On Friday, April 13th, there will be even Montiano at OperaWine. The red signed by Cotarella has been chosen by Wine Spectator between the 107 labels selected for 2018, and it will be the only wine which will represent Lazio Region in the world.
OperaWine, now in its seventh edition, is an event wanted by Vinitaly which brings together Italian winemakers and overseas importers. As usual, the event will open two days earlier than the 52nd International Wine and Spirits Exhibition, which will take place in Verona from the 15th until the 18th of April 2018.

Vitiano Rosso 2014 obtains 91 points from James Suckling who describe the last vintage: "A soft and velvety texture red with orange peel, chocolate and plum aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, fresh acidity and a flavorful finish. Subtle at the same time. This is always one of Italy's excellent value reds. Drink or hold. "
Three of our Crus won the ambitious recognition of the “Super Tre Stelle”. The authors of the “Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli 2016”, awarding each wines with mark of at least 94/100, have given the greatest award to Montiano 2013, Marciliano 2012 and RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco 2011. Those wines will be awarded during the official presentation of the guide on Monday 19th of October 2015 at Grand Hotel Continental in Siena.
Montiano and Marciliano. Lazio and Umbria. The double soul of Falesco was awarded with top marks from the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier. Both Montiano Rosso Lazio IGP 2013 and Marciliano Rosso Umbria IGP 2012, in fact, have obtained the attribution of the “5 Grappoli” (5 Bunches) from the guide Bibenda 2016. The official prize-giving ceremony will take place on Saturday 21th of November 2015 at Hotel Rome Cavalieri in Rome, during the “Great Festival of Wine and Italian Production”.
For the second consecutive year, Montiano wins the award as “Best Red Wine from Lazio” from Luca Maroni. The title won in 2014 is confirmed by the year 2013 thanks to a score of 98 cents on the “Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiano 2016” (Annuario of the Best Italian Wines 2016). The award for the prestigious achievement will be give personally by Luca Maroni on the 13th of November 2015, on the occasion of the opening night of the Thirde Edition of the event “I Migliori Vini Italiani – Regione Lazio – Frascati”.
New awards in sight for two of our Crus. In fact, Gambero Rosso has communicated in advance that Montiano 2013 will be awarded with “Tre Bicchieri” (3 Glasses) from the guide “Vini d’Italia 2016”. During the same days, the Commissions of Merano Wine Award have formalized the list of the producers who have won the “Gold” category (90-94,99 points).
There is even Falesco among the five Umbrian wineries that will be awarded between the 5th and the 10th of November during the next edition of Merano Wine Festival.
In conclusion, we are proud to note that Ferentano 2011 was included inside a special chart about the “Top 10 Exciting Wines From Italy” made from Ian D’agata, published on Decanter Magazine.
The list of award-winning wines in the 2014 edition was made official by the board of "Sakura" Japan Women's Wine Award. Between the labels in competition, which came from all over the world, Ferentano won the "Double Gold Medal" and Et Me! the "Gold Medal". "Sakura" Wine Awards is the first enological competition in Japan which has a jury composed just for women. Friday April 19th, with a tasting which will start at 19.00 at the Enoteca Al Duomo in Orvieto(TR), the season of events Montiano is officially open. A series of events dedicated to the new 2010 vintage and the previous ones, in order to strengthen the link between Falesco and the world of sport, and more particularly, the Great Tennis. Also this year, in fact, our Winery will be the official supplier of wines to the Internazionali BNL d'Italia 2013. The greatest Italian tennis tournament takes place from 11th to 19th May at the Foro Italico in Rome, where, during the evenings of Montiano tastings, will be extracted some tickets to attend one of the scheduled match. Saturday, November 24th 2012, on the occasion of the usual Grande Festa del Vino (Great Wine Festival), which will take place at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri in Rome, Bibenda rewards Montiano "Trentanni" 2009 – special vintage made for the 30th Anniversary of Falesco – and Montiano 2010 with the 5 Clusters 2013: an important recognition that emphasizes once again the quality expressed by the flagship product of Falesco. The two labels will be published in colour in the 14th edition of the Guida ai Migliori Vini e Ristoranti d'Italia 2013 (Guide to the Best Wines and Restaurants of Italy 2013) and, together with the other wines, embellished with the 5 Clusters 2013, will be served during the event.
The 30th Anniversary of Falesco, important milestone celebrated exactly three years ago, will continue to be remembered by his flagship wine in the future. Trentanni, Red Umbria especially designed to celebrate thirty years of the winery, after being produced in 2009 and successfully presented in 2011, it will be bottled in 2012, entering to be part of the company crus.
Falesco launches its web presence with the release of a new website. Having redefined its visual identity, also the website is completely renovated with a graphic elegance and simplicity, and a multilingual structure that reflects the current architecture of the product portfolio.
